I'm planning on building a custom computer desk sometime later this year. I've never done it before so I had a question. I have a butcher block picked out it's 6 feet in length and 25 inches wide, 1 1/2 inches thick Hard Maple. Was planning on getting some sturdy steel A frame legs. But I was wondering if I need some sort of brace or something? I see stuff like the standing desks and they have a large metal beam running across the middle. Do I need to get something like that to keep it from sagging or possibly cracking in the middle since all my computer stuff is going to be there in the middle? I saw these things on amazon? Would they work? Do I even need something like that or am I worrying about nothing?
