I'd say spooning is more romantic and gentle, with you hugging her from behind and massaging her belly, while she sleeps off her prey.
Sandwiching is the more intense and sexual position, embracing and putting pressure on her prey from both sides, until it goes soft. You could even lie slightly on top of each other, so you'd gradually get closer overnight, while her belly digests and shrinks, until you wake up cuddled together.

Both are great for their own reasons.
