Again, it was never about the Force. Main reason mandos respect Revan is because he stood up to them, brought the Republic army back in shape, went on to gave them a throrough ass-whopping and then humiliated them further by stripping them of their armor and weapons and exiling them. They respect strength, even if they don't understand or respect the Force.
