Shamanism/La Danse du Temps is one of my favorite comics, though it's an alternate-history setting, it's French and doesn't fit any of those categories. But the Aztecs only appear briefly in one book. Skaggy the Lost is good, though it has vikings in it. It's comedic so there's no real jerking off of them or one side over the other. Same author too.
Also you gotta be okay with guro or think it's cool to like the Aztecs. Some of the best art of them is by Mossa, unsurprisingly.
