Just like secular people can enjoy the IDEAS of Christmas, community support and goodwill toward man and whatnot, without following the literal Scripture -- people can enjoy July 4th based on the IDEA of America, detached from its actual foreign or domestic policy. There's community and fun to be had in that.
Being shitty about folks waving the Stars and Stripes for July 4th, is like being atheists being shitty about Christmas. You aren't a sperg for disregarding the ideas of such people; you're doubling down on what matters. So just have fun, look at some fireworks, eat some barbecue, and be over-the-top and bombastic and stupid like you're from a fun-loving rich country for a night.
