I do wonder what went through Konami's head during the ALIN support wave for AFD

Like why the fuck did they make a brand new deck out of a single monster, make it require a minimum of a 2-card combo, give it fuck all synergy with anything else, give it a single genuinely powerful card (Eternal Sunshine) to make it just tantalizing enough to try?
Did they just hate the character?
