For defending your built up periphery settlement from pirates and raids, is there anything more c-bill efficient and repairable than small ICE vehicles packed full of rocket launchers? You'd think "infantry," but even basic platoons of infantry with no field guns are really expensive for some reason. Rocket trucks may not be the best for a fighting campaign or in the open field, but on home ground in a one-off fight sending seventy rockets point blank into a mech could trade way up for c-bills spent, and once the surprise is over it's still deterrence, which is all you can really hope for when you're trying to defend a remote position with a low budget.
