The way I see this, in America everything is business and profit and advertising is a big part of it
Advertising in this case doesn't mean merely informing people there's a product you can buy, but in a broader sense, meaning they try to influence your mind in order to profit from you one way or the other.
It includes, for example, convincing you that if you don't take their supplement you'll get sick and so on.
Military is also a business and they can't profit from piece
That's why they will fear monger because the population that's scared because they believe they are at brink of war is very profitable for the military
Same goes for actual wars ofc but they have to be careful who they wage war with because if they get fucked it's not good
