Women aren't going to be super duper uber dominant in every interaction they have. That doesn't mean they are then automatically "subs". More like bullies who will dominate weaker men but cave in when they're faced with someone stronger.
Yoru is a more legitimate portrayal of a "domineering and irrational" woman, obviously with the volume turned way up for entertainment purposes, but still.
Makima is something that doesn't really exist. Her irrationality is a barely a feature in her character except for the last few pages of her existence. In Yoru it's a constant. She's impulsive, she doesn't really know what she wants, and it's clearly confusing and bothering her.
