Fuga 2's story without being rewritten from scratch but here's how I'd have made a sequel to Fuga 1, taking elements from 2 and 3
>age the main cast 6-7 years
>retire half the cast, especially the not martial-minded one (Boron, Hack, Chick, Hanna, Mei)
>the cast that stays are now official, though young, soldiers
>war explodes again between Berman and Gasco, but this time because Gasco agents sabotage the peace through apparent terrorism
>the Gasco characters are conflicted about taking arms again, still do to end the war as fast as possible before too many die, since they (correctly) suspect attacks were a false flag/political fuckery
>plus they rescue some new kids too on the way, feeling guilty about subjecting them to the horror of wars like them before but seeing no other way
>then, introduce a whole new cast of Berman boys and girls, also on the younger side
>give them a contrasting but similar playstyle with squads of armored vehicles rather than just a single big tank. Intermission is a camp on the road
>they fight the Gasco army, including some returning characters from Fuga 1
>eventually as they approach a final confrontation, both sides begin to realize they were manipulated from the start
>depending on how you did in the game, they reconcile and ally, or don't
>3 branching paths: Gasco alone, Berman alone, or both (good ending) fighting a greater evil
