I'm in Southern California, there are a few corpse flower specimens in this region that I know of.
Currently, the one in Long Beach is blooming, so I went to go see it.
It smelled more like body odor and spoiled vegetables to me than a corpse, but apparently the smell goes through different cycles of intensity so I saw it at the wrong (or right) time.
