i am aware that some people ride bikes for different reasons. theres nothing wrong with riding a bike for fresh air. or for aesthetics, to see the chrome glinting in the sunlight. to hang out with friends.
but the oft-repeated statement of "riding a slow bike fast ..." - its nonsense. you cannot ride a slow bike fast. you can only ride a slow bike slow.
only a fast bike can be ridden "fast" - where the bike has more power than you can put down, more power than you should actually use. thats what makes it so exciting. you have to make a concious decision, how much throttle you want at any given time - and the more power you have, the tighter the threshold is for what constitutes "too much".
this is what allows you to ride the bike "as fast as possible" - "...without crashing it" (the last bit is implicit but so important.)
no risk = no reward.

very true and very sad. it is very dangerous. i will never encourage someone to ride sport bikes, because i dont want to be morally responsible for their death lol.
each person must honestly consider their own risk tolerance and independently decide for themselves.
