Depends on what you mean.
For reference, while Awakening selling well did save the series, Fire Emblem was always coming out on a regular pace.
More focus simply meant all games going forward were localized and business kept going as usual.
Metroid isn't a series made primarily by EPD staff.
Prime 4 could sell decent enough or sell like crack and both would just guarantee Prime 5 (which depends on if that'd be Retro's next project or not) and nothing more.
Retro isn't EPD
The turnover is rough, the company doesn't have multiple teams focused on continuing evergreen franchises (and smaller experimental ones), there's a lack of senior leadership and mentoring that makes EPD function like clockwork, etc
