Sure, think a very simple premise. Hub town with a shop, a tavern, a chapel. Here you gather your party of undead spirits, all trapped in a hellish dimension you seek to escape from. You will need to tackle the main dungeons of the game in order, traversing three floors in each dungeon as the layouts become increasingly complex. The game is meant to evoke Atari 5200 visuals, except in the boss battles where the divinely touched creatures are low poly 3D models, having transcended their form thanks to the love of a strange space god. The biggest mechanics are the Danger Threshold System, where you encounter a forced battle every 20 steps (there are no random battles), and the Cycle System, where every movement you make moves the game 1 unit of time forward (one cycle). This allows for roaming miniboss monsters with their own patterns you need to carefully avoid in the overworld, since 1 cycle of time will pass every time your party completes their turns, meaning the minibosses are still roaming even when you're locked in battle.

I'm sorry if this sounds completely unorganized or unhinged, I have literally never shared this with anyone but my closest friends and family. Basically - Etrian Odyssey with an Atari 5200 coat of paint and the brooding atmosphere of The Dark Spire. Every time you move, enemies move and puzzles can shift. Here's some schizo lore I wrote early on in my notes which maybe adds some evidence that I'm not making shit up.
