I sorta almost forgot about him having this pain until this one incident at the dentist , theyd have to drill down pic related into the nerve channel before filling it with sth else. This procedure is VERY VERY painful . The denstist wanted to perform anesthesia either complete OR local. This family member refused both as he hates the numb feeling. The dentist refused he said this is so painful that like in the first second you will scream in pain and if one would continue youd likely pass out from pain. But he insisted on it as he payed for it and for a certain other reason the dentist would comply sort of originally just with the intention of proving to him that hes retarded so that he then can get a painkiller and so on.
Well he started, drilled down, guy was completely calm NOTHING , not just didn't scream but also didn't move or even show many signs of pain.
The doctor upon being finished said that he never in his life saw somebody dealing with such pain that its simply unimaginable and asked him what on earth is wrong with him

he said simply "for somebody living with chronic pain as long as me this is nothing" the doctor didn't even know what to respond said basically nothing and in fact told me the same story due to him having remembered the lastname when i went there for a mere checkup.
So whats my point? How does this help you

Well basically he originally couldn't deal with the pain it would make him throw up and get insanely depressed to the point of not knowing if he will live to see his children turn 18 because it was so painful and he doubted that a human can live like this ... BUT he did get his shit together , he managed to excel in his career raise the kid and accomplish all his goals ... I thought the pain simply left him but no it didn't as seen by his insane pain tolerance <note he no longer uses painkillers >
