the defensiveness over this film is maybe the weepiest I've ever seen. why are unhinged people so happy over a standard film not bombing? I liked the part where the israeli president standin got killed, but the way people are acting like this is a borderline religious euphoric apotheosis moment reeks of mental illness. feels like people who've been online for too long, losing their mind over chuds mocking them in culture war nonsense for ages, kamala losing, etc etc are just desperate to spike the ball with something, anything, and this film has become their avenue for that. it's making money the same way one of the transformers films made money, it's turn-your-brain-off soulless slop. no one's going to remember it the way people remember stuff like top gun maverick, earlier mcu capeshit, raimi's spiderman films etc. but the way unstable people are latching on to it reminds me of the way anytime a bog standard 7/10 video game comes out people start screeching about how it's "ART" and "A MASTERPIECE". actual pseudoreligious desperation.
