well, it's pretty evident she was invented for that, the girl who grew up in the resistence in search of her family, also a crush for the protagonist.

The entire show is pretty much a copy of other franchises and i don't find it even bad, at the time it was standard and i love grimdark stuff. Sally had to fill this role.
