There is a company called Diamond Distributors, who as the name suggests, are distributors, infact they are the only distributors (atleast up to 2020) of comics. They held a monopoly on the comics industry for decades.

What happened in 2020 you may ask? Well first the pandemic hit, when that happened, as well all know, Manga experienced the biggest boom in its entire industry, everyone was stuck inside and they read manga by the millions.
But what did this monopoly Diamond do?
They closed up shop.
That's right, they simply decided not to distribute any comics at all. They just went on vacation!

They've since declared bankruptcy as you can probably guess
