You know Reeves and HIS Batverse wouldn't have this problem if he had gotten off his ass and made his fucking sequel movie by now.
The Batman 2 should have happened a year ago. It should have happened TWO years ago. Now Gunn's universe has hit the scene and it's bumping uncomfortably into Reeves' universe, which wouldn't be the case if Reeves' universe was already two movies in. Two good movies doing well at the box office would probably be enough to convince WB to leave Reeves and his movies alone.
But we don't have two movies. We have ONE movie and now a new shared universe that seems poised to eat the second movie like a vampire. And nobody's to blame for it but Reeves' own slow ass.
