I normally would be fine with it (in fact a lot of fiction starts like this, but it's rare that the MC is just hated the whole way through) but feminist writers especially in the game industry absolutely love that shit for obvious reasons, they're femcel man hater losers. So now that I can't tell for sure what the writers' intentions are, then no I'd rather not see that especially in videogames where the player is often expected to self insert more (and some people, mainly manchildren can't even enjoy fiction without self inserting which is an issue in itself)
If the MC is a girl then I think it would work well.. but it would be easy to spin the narrative into the typical "men BAD" propaganda.
Yeah I just don't trust modern writers. And I thought the east was safe from bullshit but it's absolutely not the case, they have their own woke trash, especially chink and gook devs, japan is still sort of ok.
