Im anon who’s first bike broke yesterday
2003 suzuki intruder. It died after riding it for a while, can now idle Ok but dies with any throttle.
Evidence suggests the carbs need to be cleaned as it sat about 3 weeks between when i bought it and when i learned how to ride it. Or possibly rebuilt. Is this something a newb with no mechanical experience can do in the parking lot of her apartment? It’s my only mode of transportation and getting it towed to a shop for this is going to be like $600.
I understand the tasks will be -
>remove the fuel tank and seat, air intake hose
>remove the cables
>remove the carbs
>clean the carbs with special carb cleaner, clear jet especially, replace gaskets etc as necessary
>replace everything but the seat and fuel tank
>synch the carbs
>replace the seat and fuel tank
