Does that ending change anything?
All Fia and the flavour text seems concerned about is the undead not being hunted by the Golden Order, but the Golden Order has completely collapsed, there's 1 hunter left at all and he doesn't make it to the end of the game, and the undead don't even seem sentient.

I guess Godwyn technically returns as a prince of death, but I doubt he's anymore sentient and all he's done is randomly kill stuff by growing blight everywhere.
