Kossuth is an ancient Slovak house. Kossuth is derived from Koza - meaning goat (coat of arms of the house has a goat on it since 1479). They originate from Turčianská county, in north Slovakia, which even at the height of Magyarisation in 19th and 20th century was one of the most habitated Slovak areas in the Kingdom of Hungary. Lájos/Ľudovít's uncle, Juraj Kossuth, was a huge Slovak nationalist working with Štúr and Kollár and Kossuth's dad Ladislav was a Slovak lawyer.
