Please have a look at this video where we compare the same scene on the two games. This scene is VERY IMPORTANT and conveys a lot of stuff. If you find that the remake scene is good enough you have shit taste

They destroyed the visuals of the scene and the usage of shadows. Even the expressions changed a whole lot because of lighting changes. I'll mention the voice acting too. It's much, much better in the old version, it lacks the changes in how Maria went from soft spoken to enraged easily.

Also Maria's head is huge on the remake, what retarded proportions she seems like she's been on Ozempic for half an year.

This remake didn't correctly capture either James or Maria. James was supposed to be almost dissociating, like he's floating inside of himself barely unable to connect or feel anything without that brainhaze huge suppressed sadness brings. New James talk like he's on the verge of crying.

That makes the actors bad? No. It's the director's fault.
It's not like the remake has no value, it's just inferior as a whole.
