I'm absolutely with you on this. I understand why people like and might end up attached to it, but it's almost like the female equivalent of the series 'Monster', in that it really draws people in by giving off this vibe of being far more serious and "grounded and lifelike" than other anime, and is unique in how it does this, but despite all the stuff it does to this effect, at its core it's a soap opera that revolves around a lot of dumb shit.
