Yeah, but I'd rather make something original. If I wanted to adapt a pre-existing story, I'd do The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. The episodes of Grograman the Many Colored Death, the Star Cloister of Ghigam, and the Battle for the Ivory Tower are so awesome in the book that it's a shame Wolfgang Petersen never put them in the film.
With that being said, I like making nods to that classic.
