I always thought Ayin as more of a Orzhov/Esper leaning character, willing to make any sacrifice to achieve his ambitions.

I would have gone something like:
Ayin 1WUB
When [ ] enters, create a 0/0 colorless Construct artifact creature token with “This token gets +1/+1 for each artifact you control.”
{2} Sacrifice a non-Artifact Human Creature: Create a token that's a copy of that card except it's an Artifact in addition to its other types.

Or hell, just have Ayin as a reskin of the existing 4 mana Urza. I can see Ayin using his robotic Sephirah for mana to further his plans.
