The PG rate is just a suggestion. When they started to impose bands to rate their albums, most rock bands tried their best to make it as edgy as possible so they would get the "Parental Advisory", meaning it was edgy as fuck, and kids would buy it.
Pic related is the album of an album that did this just to make it more appealing for kids. They even changed some lyrics to have explicit violence and add a line or two about drugs to get the rad seal of approval.
