For some, our economic system has been a saving grace that further elevates their status above the working class poor, off whose backs this nation is allowed to exist and operate. For most, it is the economic prison that we try so desperately to escape from every day. We should view it as what it is; a system that has slingshotted humanity further into its future while also holding entire generations hostage to the threat of starvation and homelessness unless they forfeit their lives, never able to achieve their full potential.
