I hope DQXII shakes things up.
I liked XI but it really felt like DQVIII-2 and these games usually do a better job of differentiating themselves and pushing the genre forward in cooler ways than that.
I'm worried that they settled into DQ's identity as the "safe" JRPG when it was arguably more experimental than FF back when they were both in their primes.
