How do I get out of this "survival mode" mindset?

i don't even bedrot, i just do whatever errands my mom tells me to, keep myself busy and my mind work just enough

I'm atrocious at anything involving teammates or a ball so I became swimmer chad in HS instead. Got me a bunch of summer jobs lifeguarding at various pools. Totally worth it. If I'm ever dunked into deep water I simply swim to safety. I can tread water for hours in place if I have to wait for rescue. I'll just watch all the non-swimmers die.
