>In my country it's the opposite, the theological stuff is almost all lost but there's still a continual tradition of village witch magic that's lasted to this day
That's cool! Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking? I do think nordic folk traditions are more well-preserved in Iceland, but here they are almost non-existant.
>astrology and forms
Yeah I don't think you could do a one-to-one mapping of the forms/noetic beings to specific constellations or planets. "All is in all but appropriately in each" and all that. But I think it does make sense that the symbology and energies in the spheres are more unified than on earth, more unified in the logoi than in the spheres, more in the nous than in the logoi, etc.
>in traditional cosmology you often see the 10th sphere depicted as God
The Empyrean, right? I think the 9th represents God in some Hermetica as well
>Sol has a very strong claim too
Personally I'd say he has the best claim, but I'm biased since you're basically a Sun worshipper by default if you live up north.
>it took me a very long time to form my personal definitions and understanding of these terms
Same here. I'm a pretty mercurial person and came into this from an atheist background, so getting a good understening of the philosophy of it all has been important for me. It's just quite recently I've been able to orient myself in my worldview. Henc why I've kept the practices pretty exoteric and minimalistic.

Will have to look into those more. I have been interested in them before but never studied indepth at all.
