But animals sometimes eat aminata muscaria. In area which is now known as Russia, before vodka started to became more widespread (I guess, was in 17th century), one of rituals for northern nations was to feed fly agaric to reindeer, and then drink their urine. Reindeer body filtered out toxins, while stuff which induced hallucinations, it remained. There was even paintings about it.
But with introduction of vodka, traditions changed.
