It's like growing up in a small comfy town, and then moving to a huge city with millions of people who are all cunts and the insane traffic and everywhere has criminals and cops, the smell of exhaust permeates everything, the buzz of power lines gets louder and louder, engine noises and gunshots ruin your sleep, annoying neighbors bumping shitty music, their fucking kid stomping on your ceiling or kicking your wall, pick your annoyance. If you never knew anything else of course it bothers you less, but we who know what we left behind will always wish we could go back.

The memes are better now though, one good upside to the crowding.
