Real life has kept me from playing hardly at all; how fucked is the DD as a solo?

Is it just squadrons of mk6 ornis scouring every grid of the DD as happens in all these games?
Shroud's stream seems to just be him and his lads killing defenseless farmers that can't even afford rockets yet
