OT: I never have and probably never will read these kinds of books. I knew someone who did and we never had an honest discussion about it. They would call me a misogynist if I'd ever outright said it looked like consumerist trash that would distract me from reading good books, even though they mostly read it because they thought it was entertaining trash. They wanted to "be in the loop with their friends and coworkers," but to me it really seemed like they wanted to shit on those people. It always bothered me.
