I made a thread a couple days ago explaining that the US has a space-based weapon like a railgun that shoots spears that can go up to 1km deep in the ground. I explained you would know this is true if the government claimed it blew up something 300 meters underground using a bomb that penetrates 60 meters. Well, here we are, with the US government insisting that a bomber has done something mathematically impossible.

Problem is it isn't exactly a "bunker buster." It's meant to be an assassination weapon used in a lead up to a nuclear exchange. The idea is you would use the spears to kill all of the enemy leadership first. This cripples the enemy because there isn't anyone left to order a nuclear launch. It won't matter where they hide because the spears can pierce anything that currently exists. But it can't blow up an entire facility unless you shoot multiple spears and turn it into Swiss cheese. They're expensive as fuck though so probably cheaper to send men with guns.
What you *might* be able to do is fire the spear to create a hole. Then drop a bunker buster bomb into the hole that it makes.
