Even people who have broken GW mind conditioning can still fall into following the crowd.
And if you want to be a wargaming hipster in your "Fish Fear Me, Men Fear Me" cap and Death Metal t-shirt right now, 28 is that crowd.
So instead of having nicely painted warbands and stuff, they're following that crowd and wanking about playing "Grimdark Gardening Simulator" and making conversions that often amount to "making a dude's head a random object or a shield with a face"
That's not to say there aren't some ridiculously talented people around. But some people are covering stuff in oil washes to save themselves actually painting things nicely. And I wish that wasn't the climate these people were attracted to when we all can be so much more.
