>Is sex not typically reserved for someone special?
If Adagio hates humans then she wouldn't have someone special like that, so why would she care about their values on sex? She would more likely use it to her advantage.
>they have reached their lowest point
She kind of has reached her lowest point.
>This is why it is degrading
I never said it wasn't, I just don't think she would be above it if it meant surviving for a chance at regaining her power.
>this kind of mentality is universal amongst sentient species in most forms of fiction that aren't porn
Where are you getting that from? There are just as many depictions of sentient species who don't share these same views.
>To me, she seems like a woman who would have boundaries that she'd never cross
I just don't think sex for money is one of them. Even then though I see no reason to believe there is much she wouldn't do to get her way.
>Adagio is my wife
She's mine too.
>In such a thread, why imagine that at all?
I don't know I'm just having a conversation, sharing my thoughts since you made a comment on them.
>It's just gross, or even depressing.
Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes discussing the darker sides is interesting.
>With her magic, she wouldn't even need to use sex as a way to get people to do what she wants
Sure, with her magic of course not. But she doesn't have it now. And we already see her willing to fake it in order to keep singing, which I would wager is more important to her than some human idea of "decency". What if things get worse? All I'm saying is that I don't see her just giving up if it came to it. In fact, I could easily see her turning to sex work before she started working at some place like Mcdonalds or whatever if she needed money. I honestly think she would find that more degrading than selling her body.
>The magic of the singing is what seduces people.
Come on, that is not the only thing.
>Now, without the gems, she's practically no longer a siren at all. Just a singer, on tour, selling albums and merch.
Just because she can't sing or use magic anymore doesn't make her not a siren and now suddenly an actual human. Her values wouldn't suddenly change to match these creatures she supposedly hates. She's lived her life surviving on certain skill of seduction and manipulation, she not just going to suddenly forgo everything she knows because humans find it distasteful, she's a villain.
>if she didn't have her aura that she was portrayed with, I'd probably actually agree with you.
I guess me and you just have different interpretations of what aura she was portrayed with. I did not read her as a character who is stunted by her pride. She came across as quite humble and realistic in SBP especially.
