What am I saying exactly? I won't dilute myself beyond recognition, but I'd like to be personable and share what I think about music without making myself the center of attention. Agreed. 4chan boards shouldn't be entirely serious and dry, but sometimes the /mu/ catalog hurts to look at. Tweet-tier posts, coffeeposts, literal Twitter screencaps, politics bait, and the rampant poptimism on the board once known for sharing music beyond the mainstream in one way or another.
I hoped /metal/ would stand above that, but on many days it suffers similar problems as /mu/ plus its own problems. That trapped in a corner feeling pressed me to find new options. I still have great fondness for /metal/, but sometimes its lucid moments are brief, and delirious episodes long.
