third person melee combat is just rollslop and i dont wanna make rollslop
i want it to feel more like half life, where in order to dodge things you have to physically move your body
that way it will naturally tie in with platforming elements
i expect platforming elements and an overall emphasis on traversal to make just taking loot from point A to point B a lot of fun
it's all in service of a strand type game basically
