It’s not like an on and off switch. Male orgasms are inherently different than female orgasms so horny looks very different in both sexes. Horny is more an undercurrent feeling that can be subtle and last all day while you’re going about doing everything and reflects the orgasm climb. There needs to be a lot of build up. Flirting and bringing up the notch on the sexual tension long before you hit the bedroom. It’s more mental than physical I think for most women. I’m a cis afab not sure if I’m a lesbian or a repressor, but I’ve only sept with people of the same sex. I think also that living in a male-run and dominating world most women experience their own sexuality and perception of themselves through male lens unfortunately. So what you’re seeing isn’t always trauma, but a lack of self awareness and women supporting the patriarchal system in place unintentionally. A lot of women have a hard time finding their own voice/sexuality without the male lens.
