If kobolds are descendent or created from dragons, wouldn't the species of dragon ancestor influence the resulting kobolds?
So, something like eastern snake dragon would result in fluffy 'bolds, while the european dragon results in regular scaled kobolds.
Imagine what kobolds would look like if you use other than those two species as a base.
