Same for me. Painting the perpendicular to the clothing side of the belt and straps is basically chaos trim but for humans. Another issue is when they jump from one olive green mix to a lighter or darker olive green mix on the straps on the boxart. If you just stolidly paint them all one shade of olive green, it's not going to look interesting, so you bring in some more colors and if they aren't close enough together, it looks like the Resident Evil 4 merchant rather than a little soldier.
I got my Ratlings to battle ready, but once again, it's a case of not trying the team before I played it and ratlings just aint it for me at the moment, so that's why they are paused like this. The Bulgryn are fun to paint though; those might get the fancy treatment later.
