To actually answer your question, it's the bright colors. All the explosions and vibrant characterdesigns take full advantage of diverting your attention span. Then it "keeps" you in with the most surface level storytelling ever so it can convince dumbasses that what they're watching has actual substance. But it doesn't because 90% of Team Dai-Gurren does not exist outside of one or two scenes.
