someone said that the it crowd episode where douglas dates april is transphobic. glinner could have easily said "i understand, it's a different time to when i wrote it, apologies for the offence caused" and continued being one of the best writers in sitcom history. instead he doubles down on it being legit and sets off a chain of events that includes being divorced and losing his kids and now here we are.
i think someone mentioned that on christmas day 23 or 24 he tweeted something like 80 times in a day. this was pre-divorce so imagine it - "sorry love, dad is busy ranting about trans people again so he can't watch you open your presents."
when i watch the day today/brass eye/the fast show i have a moment of "ugh" remembering he was a writer on all of those.
