Wide-spread obesity (lol) will definitely play a huge (lol) part in the upcoming military draft, especially with regards to older men. In WW2, the max draft age was 45.
But now, roughly 70% of men aged 30 to 45 are over weight or obese. They’re actually more likely to be obese, with 40% being obese and 30% being overweight only. And of course that comes with a host of health issues that become the governments problem.
And it’s a stone-cold fact that we slow down in our 40’s. Injuries are more common, recovery time is longer, and progress is slower. Our abilities to learn aren’t as keen.
There’s also the issue of older people having more to live for. There would need to be an actual threat to a man’s family for him to risk his life. He’s established; career, home life, family… They can convince 20 year olds that they’re going on an adventure to get bad ass tough guy credentials (and they fucking will; you’re not immune to propaganda).
