JP3 was only good for how it depicted the raptors. It fleshed them out more by giving them an actual pack mentality and showing that they weren't just savage violent monsters like the other two movies before them depicted them. Their entire goal in the movie was them trying to get back their stolen eggs, which proved they were even good parents. Their designs were also unique and memorable.
Every other dinosaur got a fucking downgrade though. The spinosaurus is nothing more than a fucking b-movie tier monster, the r-rex is a pussy, and the pteranodons are just violent creatures. Only the herbivores came out unscathed since they were barely shown at all.
JP3's terrible script doesn't help it either, and even bringing back Dr.Grant and Ellie did way more harm than good.
Still slightly better than the Jurassic World movies though.
