Do you think that 2024 5e could have a Monk that's built around Stances? It could have an ability like this for example:
>Enduring Mountain Stance
>When you expend a Focus Point to use Patient Defense you can choose to enter this Stance for 1 minute or until you enter another stance. While in this stance, whenever you use Deflect Attacks, you can reroll the d10 and choose whichever roll to use.
at higher levels you could add an upgrade that does something like
>While in this Stance you gain a special reaction that you can use once before the start of your next turn. You can use this special reaction only to use Deflect Attacks.
You could have one for Flurry of Blows that boosts your offensives and for Step of the Wind that increases your mobility (something like the Jump Spell comes to mind).
