Unfortunately collateral damage to "normal" play is exactly what has happened over and over. Noa is balancing the game based on feedback from a vocal minority of discordist cheaters with nearly year old saves in states no one can feasibly recreate ever again because they're built on layer upon layer of stacked exploits long since patched out.
Unless reports come from a new game, started on the latest version and played entirely without a single mod it should be discarded.
Yeah, if someone can become a blueberry baron within a couple of weeks in game time and make a mill/shipment - sure, balance that shit out.
But if something takes years to reach without having a cheesed save with a massive stock of materials, skillevels, uber NPCs and other gains from previous exploits it might not be something that needs to be patched at all.
